Success Rates
Pregnancy Statistics
Statistical indicators play an important role in selecting an IVF clinic. We in Scandinavia AVA-PETER work to increase the number of cycles every year, with 7000 cycles a year on average in our Saint Petersburg clinic.

All over the world, the THBR (Take Home Baby Rate) indicator is usually used to determine the success of ART (assisted reproductive technology). This ratio shows how the number the couples who initiated the IVF cycle relates to the number of successful pregnancies. Unfortunately in Russia, this indicator is irrelevant, since it is not the fertility specialist who manages the pregnancy, it is the gynecologist chosen by the patient. That makes him responsible for the success of the pregnancy.

Still there are other indicators that allow to see how well our doctors succeed in their field.
Effectiveness
The average success rate of Scandinavia AVA-PETER programs is 55.2%, and in women under the age of 35, pregnancy occurs in 61.55% of cases in IVF programs with their own gametes.

The effectiveness of the native egg donor IVF-programmes
We also have a native donor programme in place. This one is for women who cannot use their own eggs for IVF. We call donors “native” because they enter the programme at the same time as the patients do and undergo all the necessary procedures right here and right now, that allows us to use fresh oocytes for IVF.

The effectiveness of these procedures is:

The frozen donor eggs IVF-programmes effectiveness
The use of frozen donor eggs for the IVF cycle gives the same results as the native donor programme. Many years ago, scientists faced a challenge when freezing oocytes: due to the large amount of inner liquid the freezing produces crystals that can damage the integrity of the cell; now we can benefit from an advanced procedure of vitrification.

Rapid freezing allows to maintain the high quality of eggs, and the effectiveness of vitrified donor eggs IVF-programmes in our country is:
52.53%

The effectiveness of the PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing) IVF-programmes
For the certain indications (namely, maternal age, history of unsuccessful IVF attempts or miscarriages, severe male factor infertility or other genetic disorders in parents that are undesirable to be passed along to the child), the doctor may opt for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).
Our experience proves this to significantly increase the chances of IVF pregnancy:
Number of Babies Born after IVF
As a result of IVF programmes maintained in our clinic, more than 21,000 children have already been born. This number is still growing and we are sure that it will go higher because we strive to make the dream of as many patients as possible come true.
And they are thankful to us.
Number of consultations covered by compulsory health insurance (CHI)
In 2013, the IVF procedure was included in the Program of State Guarantees of Free Medical Care for Citizens, enabling couples to independently choose clinics for in vitro fertilization. Today, Scandinavia AVA-PETER works with all regions of Russia and provides IVF treatment to patients with all forms of female and male infertility, combined factors, and unexplained infertility, including those living in the regions of the Russian Federation.
Thank you for trusting us. Every day, we do everything possible to help you become parents.
Key performance indicators of the embryology laboratory
The performance indicators of an embryology laboratory are somewhat more complex than the overall effectiveness indicators of IVF programs. This requires continuous monitoring of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), for which both threshold and benchmark values exist. These values were defined by experts at the Vienna Consensus, developed with the support of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and Alpha scientists.
In total, 19 indicators were selected, including 12 key performance indicators (KPIs), five performance indicators (PIs), and two benchmark indicators. In Russia, it is customary to monitor fertilization rates (successful and failed), the percentage of good-quality blastocysts, and the overall blastocyst formation rate. Below are the indicators of our clinic compared with the minimum and benchmark values.
We can say that our performance indicators are high, but we know for certain that this is not the limit of our capabilities. The team at Scandinavia AVA-PETER continuously works to ensure these figures keep rising. We are proud to offer our patients increasingly advanced, high-technology medical care that helps make their dreams of parenthood come true.
